Traveling from the North Cascades over SR 20:
1. Follow SR 20 down from North Cascade National Park's mountain passes. Once on the valley floor, drive past the Mazama junction the 15 miles to Winthrop.
2. Once at the 4-way intersection of Highway 20 and Riverside Ave, take a right onto Riverside. Drive through this portion of Winthrop's downtown.

5. Immediately after leaving the bridge, you come to a 3-way intersection where you will bear right onto White Ave. Go in the direction of the National Fishery.
6. Continue for 200 feet on White Ave. Then take a quick left onto Norfolk Rd, just before the very prominent neon green/yellow crosswalk sign. Our first sign for Sunflower Resort and the Methow Valley Wellness Center, off to your left, is at this intersection of White Ave. and Norfolk Rd.

9. Each house is labeled on the carport posts, and from right to left, the names of the houses are: arnica, balsam, black-eyed Susan, coneflower, daisy, aster, and sunflower
Traveling North from Wenatchee on US 97:
1. Just before reaching Pateros, take a left onto the SR 153 and rive N/NW for 42 miles until you reach the outskirts of Winthrop. SR 153 will dead end just southeast of Twisp but seamlessly connects with the SR 20 heading North/NW at this point. (Do not take SR 20 up the Loup Loup pass.
2. Proceed through Twisp N/NW until the outskirts of Winthrop.
3. After passing the Thriftway grocery store and the Pardners Convenience store and gas station on the right, you are close.
4. When you reach the first 3-way intersection past the grocery and gas station, take a left onto White Ave. (If you go over the bridge and into downtown Winthrop you have gone the wrong direction.)
5. Then proceed to follow steps 6 through 9 above, to get Sunflower Resort

The walking trail will take you right to downtown Winthrop in less than 10-12 minutes. Pick up the trail right from our Wellness Center and head toward the Winthrop library. You'll cross over White Avenue, wind around the Winthrop Rink, walk just east of the Spring Creek Ranch pasture, and onward to the walking bridge spanning the Methow River.
When on the bridge notice the gorgeous backdrop of the snow-capped Gardner Mountain, Winthrop's iconic view. Stop to enjoy the confluence of the Chewuch and Methow Rivers from this bridge. When the river is high because of rapid snow melt, notice the green color of the Methow River and the browner hues of the Chewuch River water, as they come together at this Confluence.
All your downtown Winthrop destinations start 250 feet from the walking trail's end.
After walking along the boardwalks of town in a northeasterly direction, you cross another pedestrian-only suspension bridge-the Sa Teekh Wa (meaning: many salmon). The Sa Teekh Wa Trail, on the other side of the bridge, is a mile long out-and-back interpretive trail along the Chewuch River.
